Titanium Round Flask

Here we have a fine example of a commercial use of titanium. This flask is quite pricey – being in the $100.00+++ range. It offers a couple great features. It is EXTREMELY lightweight as compared to other flasks. Also, due to its titanium fabrication, it will not alter the taste of its contents – so whether you fill it with pure mountain spring water or 18 yr old scotch, you will get a great true taste. Obviously, this flask is a gift for the outdoorsman who’s got everything or just any really privileged alcoholic. It would probably be suitable for THE MOST INTERESTING MAN IN THE WORLD, as well.

Lawrence Aviation’s owner Gerald Cohen – 75 – sentenced to Prison

Gerald Cohen, 75, owner of Lawrence Aviation in Port Jefferson, NY was sentenced to year and a day in prison last week. He was found guilty of illegally storing hazardous waste.
Lawrence Aviation was a small mill producer of titanium mill products – namely sheet.

Make Your Own Titanium (Just like Gramps used to do in the bathtub)

So apparently some DIYers (Do It Yourselfers) decided they’d take a crack at making their own hi tech space age alloys. In front of their garage. In a flower pot.
Please watch this video. Despite being incredibly asinine and kind of nerdy, it is pretty interesting.

Forged Titanium Knife

Titanium is a common material to find used in knives. It is not common to find an entire knife forged from titanium.

The video below outlines the titanium forging process for a finished part. This knife starts as a cold block of titanium and then is heated up to a glowing ember of hot metal and hamered, twisted, and tooled into a remarkable finished product.
